We're bringing social action back!
We’re excited to announce that this year, with support from Virgin Money Foundation’s #iwilltakeaction fund, we’re bringing social action back to you and your young people!
We’re thrilled to be able to FINALLY share the good news with you. Virgin Money Foundation are kindly supporting us by providing the Key Funds (Key Project Funds) for first stage social action projects. Together, we’re looking forward to seeing more young people get involved in social action and make it their own through The Key Framework.
So here’s all you need to know about the new social action opportunities with The Key…
- Just like last time Social Action projects are a bonus! This means they don’t count as a project credit against your Key Membership.
- This time social action projects must be stage one (up to £250).
- Once again young people can begin a stage one social action project even if they’ve done or are currently doing a normal Key Project. They must be ‘new’ to social action in that they’ve not already done a special social action Key Project over the past two years.
- Social Action projects can be registered from today! Simply tick the special project box when registering your young people’s project.
- We’re thrilled to say that Virgin Money Foundation have funded our The Key to Social Action programme for three years! So we’ve got bonus social action coming your way until October 2021!
We’re super excited to be able to offer you and your young people this opportunity. Social Action has so many benefits for young people, helping them to build skills, connect with their community and simply do something kind for others. With The Key Framework young people can truly do something they’re passionate about as it’s up to them what they decide to do!
Remember we class social action as 'Young people undertaking practical activity in the service of others in order to create positive social change that is of benefit to their community as well as to the young person themselves.'
