Rebecca joined The Key as CEO in late May 2024. She has almost 20 years’ experience of working with communities across the North East, bringing strengths in partnership work and engaging across community and voluntary sector networks. She doesn’t shy away from trying out new ideas to get the best for people.
She is committed to fostering positive change which is evident through her previous extensive work in South Tyneside including leading Jarrow Hall and embedding community at the heart of the visitor attraction; leading large scale social action and volunteering programmes in partnership with the local communities and corporate organisations; and working with communities to develop opportunities for themselves with a focus on what matters to them most. She also chairs the board of the local infrastructure organisation in South Tyneside.
With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by today's young people, Rebecca's approach is rooted in compassion and the belief that everyone deserves equity.
Apart from spending time with her children and collecting multiple craft hobbies, her spare time is spent with her dog, Eric or enjoying travelling to festivals in her motorhome.
