Become a Young Panel Member!
Friday saw an exciting development for The Key, as we had a really fun (and competitive!) Kahoot session, training a new cohort of community panel members – an amazing group of young people from Groundwork’s Youth of Today.
Yes, that’s right, young people can become CPM’s and sit on panels, helping us distribute funds to other groups for their Key Projects. Friday’s session was part of our ongoing work to involve young people at the heart of everything we do at The Key.
Any young person that has completed a Key Project can become a volunteer with us – flipping the table and getting to be part of the decision-making panel at the pitch stage of The Key. You get to experience young people pitch to you for their Key Project before asking questions, being part of the final panel decision, and hopefully having a lot of fun and inspiring other young people along the way.
If you or any young people you know, are interested in becoming part of our pool of volunteers, please get in touch – we can run live sessions with groups of young people virtually or in person, or we can package the training into an individual course that can be completed in their own time online.
As for the Youth of Today, they are chomping at the bit to put their new skills to the test and to sit on panels – if you have any upcoming projects, do get in touch as they would love to channel their newfound inner Peter Jones or Deborah Meaden and act as the ‘dragons’ on Key panels soon.
We’re so excited to be launching this as part of our wider plans to involve young people in everything we are about at The Key – keep your eyes peeled for more opportunities and developments!
