Paul Hamlyn Foundation supports The Key!

Something hugely exciting is happening at The Key and we’re delighted to finally be able to share it with you.

The Key has always been an ambitious little charity with a vision to inspire belief in young people. With lots of help from our Key Facilitators and The Key Framework, we've been doing this successfully across the North East for over 27 years and we are truly proud of everything our young people have achieved. We know that The Key Framework is hugely effective and that we could make an impact with even more young people (both within the North East and beyond).

We’re therefore delighted that our friends at Paul Hamlyn Foundation have chosen to invest in our ambitious plans as part of their Growth Fund. Their generous support of £500,000 over the next 4 years will enable us to embark on a transformational journey to improve our offer, broaden our reach (both inside and outside of the North East) and deepen our impact.

“Everyone at The Key is delighted that we have been chosen as a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Growth Fund partner. We are very proud of what we have achieved over the past 27 years, inspiring thousands of young people to believe in themselves and achieve their potential. However we are an ambitious organisation with a strong determination that our work will benefit significantly more young people in the future – especially those facing challenging circumstances. Consequently we are extremely grateful for this major investment by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, which will enable us to both extend our reach and deepen our impact.”

– Austin McNamara, Interim CEO

We’re just getting started but will be bringing you regular updates on our progress. We’ll also be tapping into your expertise throughout as we work to inspire belief in thousands of more young people through The Key Framework annually.
