Huey, Dewey, Louie

Three young girls came together to complete their first Key Project this September. The group wanted to make a small act of kindness at their local hospital. Working together with the cancer ward at the hospital, this small group made 'Little bags of Love' to spread positivity to some of the patients staying in the hospital.

Each bag contained items including fully socks, hand gel, and colouring books as well as messages of positivity. The group went a step further and made 'Little Bags of Love' for the nurses on Ward 34 to say a big thank you for the hard work they do everyday for the patients.

This young group of women worked hard to create gifts for the Ward demonstrating their determination to uplift cancer patients from their personal experience of "how awful the disease is" and wanted to do something positive to make a difference.

This Key project allowed the young women to give back positively to their community whilst building their communication, planning, organisation and budgeting skills too. The experience of communicating with the Senior Sister on the ward was a new challenge for the group but they managed it seamlessly and it too helped them to develop their negotiation skills further as they found times to visit suitable for all. Not only that, but the group's budgeting skills came on leaps and bounds as they worked hard to negotiate on pricing and shop around for the best deal so they could create the biggest possible impact with their project.
