The Great North Run is widely regarded as one of the most popular half marathons worldwide, with tens of thousands of runners and spectators getting amongst it each year.
The 13.1-mile course begins in Newcastle, crosses the Tyne Bridge, passes through Gateshead, and finishes along the coast in South Shields. The electrifying atmosphere is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime, and we're here to help you do just that and more!
The Key is looking for passionate runners to join our team and give it there all in 2025. We have spaces available for runners, walkers, and even those who want to hop or skip to the finish line. Are you up for the challenge?
Offer 1: Pay £30 and commit to raising £300
Secure your place in the Great North Run for just £30 and commit to raising a minimum of £300 for The Key.
By choosing this option, you’ll help us empower young people to unlock their potential and achieve incredible things. Together, we can create lasting change—thank you for stepping up as a hero for our cause!
Offer 2: Pay £65 and raise as much as you can
By paying £65, you’ll secure your place in our event and have the opportunity to raise as much as you can.
We encourage participants on this package to aim for a fundraising goal of at least £150. This helps us cover the £114 cost per charity space and ensures we can continue making a meaningful impact for the young people we support.

Offer 3: Own space #GNR25 hero
You can still join The Key’s GNR 2025 Hero Team and make a difference for young people by raising vital funds.
There’s no entry fee and no fundraising target—you’ll enjoy all the same benefits and support as our charity place runners. Every step you take will help empower young people to realise their potential.
