Kickstarting Youth Engagement

We are looking for our next kickstarter. If you are a young person on universal credit, why not get involved with The Key, a charity supporting young people to complete projects that matter to them. Your purpose in The Key would be as a vital member of our Programme Delivery Team and you would assist with development and delivery of current projects/pilots and initiatives including:

  • Youth Engagement and Youth Voice in The Key,
  • Supporting our partners and young people to successfully complete Key Projects,
  • Attending sector networks, training and events,
  • Supporting the ‘Delivery Team’ to deliver training, consultation and learning activities for partners and young people,
  • Supporting with developing and running The Key’s events for partners and young people,
  • Working with the ‘Marketing and Income Generation Team’ to support fundraising campaigns, promotional events and activities and promotion of The Key, including updating social media activity and contributing to press releases and general marketing / promotional work,
  • Work on our ‘Going Green’ initiative to make The Key more environmentally responsible.

The role is for 25 hours per week at National Minimum Wage and will generally be 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, but this is negotiable. Our office is based in Central Newcastle at MEA House with flexibility of working a hybrid model, but there is an expectation to be in the office base for the majority of the week.

Flexibility in start and finish times but with an expectation that some meetings will require set start times. Occasional evening or weekend hours with ‘Time Off In Lieu’ (TOIL) to compensate if work additional hours.

In addition to the work placement there are opportunities to access additional training and  progression and career guidance as part of the placement.

Any enquiries must be made before 20th March 2022 with placement beginning before 31st March 2022.

For additional information or a chat about the role, contact Una MacDermott on 0191 731 7832 or una.macdermott@thekeyuk.org
