Key Group, Route2Work, came together at college to enhance their employability skills to prepare themselves for placements and future careers.
Embarking on their Key adventure, this group of ambitious young stars decided they wanted to build upon their experiences and learn about the world of business with their Stage 1 project.
With this in mind, they hit the ground running. Each young person went away to consider the type of item they'd like to sell through their Key Project before coming back together to pitch their ideas to one another. With too many great ideas to choose from, the group chose to sell multiple items before getting to work on costing their products and working out the price needed to make a profit.
With their planning in place and their business ideas set, the group headed to panel where they got a resounding YES!
Following a boost at panel, Route2Work began negotiating on price, ordering materials and creating their items including painted plant pots, trendy key rings, crystal necklaces and an array of wax melt options. They loved getting creative and being able to lead something that was entirely their own idea and hardworking was an amazing opportunity for everyone involved.
Putting their new found confidence and communication skills to the test, Route2Success began selling at their weekly stall outside Jarrow Hall. They liaised with visitors and made sure to offer deals that nobody could say no to!
Route2Work came together having never worked together before to develop their teamwork and enhance their employability skills. They achieved great success selling their items week on week and grew as individuals too.
